Mark tomov
Mark Tomov is the founder of the Forum Novum Foundation. He has studied Classics in Bulgaria and at the Accademia Vivarium Novum. He is currently reading for a BA in Arabic with Akkadian at the University of Oxford. His interests span oral poetry theory, the field of Comparative Semitics, Greek and Roman rhetoric and the interaction between elite and folk literature in the Arabic tradition of folk epics (siyar). He also plays the guitar and has picked up the oud as well.
Rogelio Toledo
Rogelio has studied a BA in Ancient Philology at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. After finishing the one-year program at the Polis Institute in Jerusalem he completed an MA in Ancient Philology at Freie Universität in Berlin and is currently a PhD candidate at the Universidad de Granada. He is a philologist, Byzantinist, Ancient Greek speaker, Antifa supporter and metalhead (but he also loves classical and pop music).
Duncan Kampschuur
Duncan Kampschuur studied Classics at Leiden University (BA and MA) and the Accademia Vivarium Novum. Apart from Classics, he is a non-professional musician singing, playing the guitar and the fiddle. He is primarily interested in Scottish, Irish and Balkan music. His research interests focus on Stoic writings and Renaissance Latin literature.
Zozan Tarhan
Dr. Zozan Tarhan has studied Archaeology (BA and MA) and Ancient History (MA) at Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’. Having won a number of scholarships, she has carried out several philological and archaeological specialisations abroad in the fields of Ancient Near Eastern Studies and Assyriology. In 2022 she received her PhD degree with her dissertation titled ‘Authority and Ideology in the Early Neo-Assyrian Empire (934–745 B.C.)’. Her research interests are primarily focused in the field of Neo-Assyrian Empire and Assyrian royal ideology, Mesopotamian scholarship, and cuneiform studies.
Betina Yaneva
Betina studied Classics at Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’ and later completed a preparatory course in Hungarian Philology at Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest. She is primarily interested in music and poetry, ranging from classical (ancient) to folk traditions.
Borislav Petrov
Borislav Petrov has studied Classics (BA), Old Church Slavonic (MA), and Balkan Studies (MA) at Sofia University ‘St. Kliment Ohridski’. He is currently a PhD candidate in Indo-European linguistics and an assistant professor at Sofia University. His scientific interests include Indo-European linguistics, etymology, and the history of the Balkan languages.
